Philippine Gold- Not at the Olympics

It looks like the gold that the Philippines will be getting will be coming from the local mines and not at the Beijing Olympics. For those who are not sure, we’ve never had an Olympic gold medal hung around the necks of our athletes. Gold has eluded us since 1924, the first time we attended the Olympic games in Paris. We have won the silver in boxing, but that was back in 1996 (Atlanta, USA). But how could we possibly win with a 15 man team? Where are our athletes? AND What’s up with our stomachs - diarrhea before the event? Sigh.

what a sad reality…it all goes back to discipline and techniques actually. we fared good in boxing coz there is weighing but in other games, we cannot beat the long legged and bigger ones. i hope the leader of psc realize that and other sports official in the country

the japanese kitajima won against the longer legged and bigger ones in swimming. there is hope, but the training and the determination has to be there.
